UPHOLSTERY COMMISSIONS

What you have produced is a beautiful piece of upholstering craftsmanship, reinvigorating well-loved but bedraggled furniture and turning them back into pieces we can enjoy and be proud of for years to come. I also want you to know that we not only appreciated the work you did, but also the advice you gave. It helped enormously to be guided by your good taste and your intuitive feel for interior design aesthetics.

THE PROCESS

Complete the form below. Once received we will contact you within 24 hours to discuss your requirements including fabric ideas. We will also arrange a convenient date and time to visit your home to inspect the item and bring swatch books to show suitable fabrics.

  1. Once your home visit has taken place, we will issue an estimate.

  2. On acceptance of the quotation, we will book the commission into our schedule and contact you to arrange a convenient time to either collect the item or have it delivered to our workshop.

  3. We will start your commission. In most cases the piece will be stripped back the the frame. This not only allows us to rebuild the upholstery using new, fire retardant and long lasting fillings, but also to check for any defects that require attention. Once this is complete we will start to rebuild the uphosltery. Using modern or traditional techniques, occasionally a mixture of the two, we will build up varying layer to ensure maximum comfort for years to come. Next we will fit the chosen cover and finishing touches.

  4. Having agreed a convenient date and time, we will deliver the item back to your home address.

PAST COMMISSIONS

VINTAGE CHAIR

Following an Interior Consultation, our client commissioned us to reupholster her favourite chair to compliment the scheme. Although our research failed to discover the age of the chair, considering its beautiful curves combined with the traditional upholstery found under its original covers, we believe its probably from the 1930s or 1940s. Working closely with our client, we helped her select the stunning Brubeck by Margo Selby for Osborne & Little.

FAMILY HEIRLOOM

Having being handed down through generations of the same family, our client wanted to give the chair a contemporary yet sympathic update, befitting of her design led city centre apartment. Following a complimentary in-home fabric consultation, it was decided to inject colour and texture into the predominently white interior by opting for Pistchio with Café Noir piping from Linwood’s Omega Velvet collection.

MIDCENTURY MODERN

Having been stored in their garage for numerous years, our client wanted to bring these cherished yet tired chairs back into their home. Purchased by their parents from a Manchester furniture store in the late 1950s, the classic lines and detailing are as fresh today as the day they were delivered. Selecting a beautiful deep green herringbone from Abraham Moon & Son with contrasting piping in dark grey, the chairs were fully stripped and rebuilt prior to reupholstering.

ITALIAN DESIGN

Following the purchase of a chair from our Store, our client contacted us about recovering his De La Espada Sofa, Chairs and Footstool. With a focus on wool, we suggested Bute Fabrics as a perfect compliment to these designer pieces. After sampling, Tweed Sea Salt was selected, with Tiree Lavender as contrast scatter cushions.
